2-Years old Girl Nearly Lynched For Faking Pregnancy In Kumasi

Residents of Atonsu-Bokro in Kumasi have been thrown into a state of shock after glimpsing a 23-year-old girl, Joycelyn Adator allegedly faking a pregnancy.

The residents mobbed Joycelyn Adator after finding out she had faked pregnancy but for the timely intervention of Director for Journalists Against Abuse (JBA) Aboagye Frank Jackson.

Narrating the gruesome incident to wontumionlinne’s Nana Owusu Achiaw, the key witness, Kwadwo Sabby said he came to Kumasi from Sunyani and noticed the girl frequenting his brother, Emmanuel’s (the girl’s boyfriend) room and he welcomed her.

“She told me she came with Emmanuel but Emmanuel has travelled and she was coming to stay with Emma and will return when she gets money, ” he said.

According to him, an argument broke out and a certain woman who intervened unexpectedly touched the girl’s tummy.

“At this point, she noticed that the girl had entangled her stomach with a blanket packed with towels and kids’ clothes and wearing a breast tube.

Kwadwo Sabby affirmed that it’s been one month and three weeks since he saw the girl in the house but she faked she was 8 months old pregnant.

“I stay in the house with my wife who is a midwife and one day we saw the lady coming out of Emma’s room and we called him to know if he is aware somebody is in his room. Emma said he met the girl outside and she told him he doesn’t have room to sleep and he helped him,” another eye witness Isaac Jeny chipped in.

Isaac Jeny added: “according to Emma, he asked the Joycelyn Adator to leave on the subsequent days but she refused. And Emma said the girl forced to have sex with him one night.”

He said her wife discovered some pregnancy symptoms on the girl and she asked her to bring her urine for confirmation of the pregnancy but the girl brought water instead.

What The Victim Told Nana Owusu Achiaw

Joycelyn Adator confirmed that she was not pregnant hinting that she aborted the pregnancy some months earlier.

She explained that she came from Volta Region to work in Kumasi and met Emma when she was trading by the roadside.

Joycelyn Adator said after four weeks her employer’s husband told her, her wife will not give her salary so she should stop the job.

According to her, she called Emma and communicated to him what has happened.He asked her to converge at Bokro junction and he gave her Ghc50.00 to go and take her belongings.

Joycelyn said she told Emma about the pregnancy but Emma repudiated that he is not responsible so and he absconded to Ivory Coast.

She has been arrested by the Asokwa Police to assist in investigations.
