The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said a bulk SMS will be sent to parents of prospective Senior High School (SHS) students to verify and confirm their schools of choice from Wednesday, 16 to Tuesday, 22 February 2022.
“Parents, teachers, candidates are to be informed, that a bulk SMS of the schools selected will be sent to the contact numbers provided by candidates during the school selection,” a statement issued by the GES on Tuesday, 15 February 2022 said.
According to the GES, the sending of bulk SMS forms part of efforts to ensure a smooth placement of candidates into SHSs across the country this year.
“To ensure a smooth Placement this year, the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) Secretariat has made available the choices of schools selected by the 2021 BECE Candidates through bulk SMS, USSD messaging and online for verification and confirmation,” the statement noted.
The GES urged candidates to “check and immediately notify their various Heads of schools of any error found for corrections to be made.”
Apart from the bulk messages that would be sent to all contacts, “parents and candidates, can also dial *899*88# and follow the instructions to verify choices made.
