4 dead, 9 injured in fatal Nsutam accident

Four persons have been confirmed dead while nine others are seriously injured in a fatal accident which occurred Sunday morning at Nsutam on the Eastern Region stretch of the Accra to Kumasi Highways.

Two of the deceased are males while the two are females.

Two others in critical condition have been transferred to the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua while the rest are receiving treatment at Saviour Hospital at Osiem.

The accident involved a Sprinter bus with registration number AW 221-14 onboard with 13 passengers which was heading the Kumasi direction but overtook another vehicle and crashed with a Trailer truck with registration number GE 1465-12 from the opposite direction.

It took the intervention of a joint team of Police and Fire Service personnel at the scene to separate the injured from the dead ones.
