6-year-old girl snatched from mother’s car

KwaZulu-Natal police are searching for a Grade 1 Umhlali Preparatory School pupil who was allegedly abducted from the back of her mother’s car on Sunday.

Police opened a kidnapping case after six-year-old Alexia Nyamadzawo was snatched when her mother slowed down at a speed bump in Glendale Road, Shayamoya, near Shakaskraal.

“It is alleged that on 31 May at 18:00, an unknown suspect kidnapped a six-year-old girl while she was with her mother in a vehicle [in] Glendale Road”, police spokesperson Brigadier Jay Naicker said.

“The matter is still under investigation,” Naicker added.

The child was wearing a blue dress when she was snatched.

According to a missing child alert, Alexia is from Zimbabwe and is unable to speak isiZulu.
