A week after missing a World Cup slot after losing on aggregate to Ghana, the Nigerian senior national team, the Super Eagles, are still pleading for forgiveness for their failure to make it to Qatar 2022.
In a tweet post on April 5, 2022; exactly a week after the Black Stars snatched a one-all draw at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, the NFF promised that the Eagles will soar higher soon and make Nigerians proud again.
The tweet entailed a video of players taking photos at the packed Abuja stadium prior to the March 28 fixture.
It was captioned thus: “For your unwavering support and love, we thank you our dear fans. Things didn’t go as planned and WE ARE SORRY???????? We will soar high again…We go bring joy again. NAIJA forever!!!”
Ghana booked her place at Qatar after holding Nigeria to a goalless draw in Kumasi before the draw in Abuja, progressing on the away goal rule.
The Black Stars have been placed in a group that entails Uruguay, Portugal and South Korea.
Other African nations heading to Qatar include Senegal, Cameroon, Morocco and Tunisia.
