The Tema Development Corporation (TDC) will soon pull down Anointed Palace Chapel International, Tema Branch belonging to Reverend Francis Antwi alias Obofour over encroachment, MyNewsGh.com has gathered.
Checks from the TDC Development Company survey department and Tema layout has revealed that Reverend Obofour’s Church Anointed Palace Chapel International situated at Community 19 near T and T Properties does not have any valid land documents
The said church in dispute does not also have any permit processing documents with TDC since the area the church is situated has been declared inhabitable for both residential and commercial purposes due to its closeness to a water way that floods the whole area anytime it rains.
Officials of TDC told MyNewsGh.com that the church and other illegal developers in the area have encroached on the said water way and the Municipal Assembly which per the new local government act 936 oversees all development in that jurisdiction has the right to take any action against the illegal structures and development in the area.
Assignees of the controversial man of God on Monday November 25, 2019 brutalized officials of the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) who visited his church in the area to demand for building permits.
According to officials of the TWMA, it was part of their routine activities in the company of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) to inspect the building permit but the hostile boys of the Man of God beat them to pulp.
A staff of the Assembly who videoed the incident, said the irate boys used various life-threatening objects at Shalom Spot in Community 18 where the church is located on the officials and in the process injured some of them.
“The Finance Officer, the Chief Executive and Engineer were beaten. The phone of the Engineer was smashed…the Assembly vehicle the windscreen was smashed. It was a very bad incident to experience. Knives were drawn here, sticks and others. No one was spared the beatings of Obofour’s boys”, the staff narrated in the video.
The matter has since been reported to the police who have arrested five suspects said to be assisting them investigating them.
