Monkeypox is a disease caused by a virus. This is a zoonotic disease, which simply means that it can be transmitted from animal to human and human to animal.

Monkeypox is characterized by a fever swollen lymph nodes, and a widespread rash. The rashes cause many lesions, which can appear on your genital or anus.

Monkeypox is quite common in the world today, but most people don’t know how to treat it. So, in this article, we are going to briefly discuss on some of the symptoms of Monkeypox and how to treat it, according to Healthline.

Symptoms Of Monkeypox.

After contacting the virus, it take 6 to 12 days for the symptoms to manifest.

* Fever, which is usually the first symptom

* Headache

* Muscle ache

* Back aches

* Fatigue

* Chills

* Swollen Lumpy Nodes

Few days after the fever, you start developing rashes all over your body, the rashes mostly affect this part:

* Face, which is the most common

* Palm of your hand

* Sole of your feet

* Mouth

* Genitalia

* Eyes, which is the most dangerous.

The rash associated with Monkeypox consist of lesions that involve the following:

* Papules, or slightly raised lesions

* Scabs

* Vesicles, or bumps with clear fluid

* Macules, or flat disordered lesions

How To Treat Monkeypox.

Some medication can be used to control an outbreak and prevent the disease from spreading. Those medications include:

* Vaccine Vaccine (smallpox vaccine)

* Vaccinia Immune Globulin

* Antiviral Medications

* Tecovirimat( this is an antiviral used to treat smallpox)

* Cidofovir, Which is obviously used to treat eye infection caused by cytomegalovirus.

* Brincidofovir, (this is an antiviral used to treat adult and pediatric smallpox
