University bans indecent dressing and introduces dress code for students and staff

Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, the Vice Chancellor of Nigeria’s Godfrey Okoye University, has told students that they can no longer wear flip-flops, rough jeans, colored hair, long fingers, face caps, or fake eyelashes.

The college has banned what it calls “indecent dress” and put in place a new dress code so that students and staff can be easily recognized.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Rev. Fr. Anieke said this on Tuesday when he spoke to the school’s staff and students when they got back from their Christmas and New Year’s breaks.

“No student should wear flip-flops, rough jeans, dyed hair, long fingers, face caps, or fake eyelashes,” the Vice Chancellor was quoted as saying by NAN.

He made it clear that he didn’t like how most students and staff broke the school’s dress code by wearing T-shirts with writing that wasn’t allowed.

Anieke warned male students that they must comb their hair well or shave it if they don’t want to get in trouble with the school’s code of conduct for bad behavior. He stressed that the university will no longer allow people to look bad.

He also said that during the university’s 14th Matriculation, which will take place on January 27, no female students will be allowed to wear dresses or shoes that are too revealing. For the men to march, they have to wear suits with university ties.
