Okyenhene demanded 98 cows and 98 bottles of schnapp to be pacified

It has emerged that the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, demanded for 98 cows and 98 bottles of Schnapp from embattled Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mr Kwame Zu to be pacified.

Daniel Ofori Atta, state secretary of Akyem Abuakwa made the revelation in an interview on Asempa FM’s ‘Eko Sii Sen‘ show on Thursday.

According to him, the 98 cows and 98 bottles demanded of Mr Zu was later reduced to 49 cows and 49 bottles of Schnapp, with the King finally accepting not to take anything from Mr Zu as a sign of his forgiveness for his ‘sins’ against him and the stool of Akyem Abuakwa.

Ashanti Regional Secretary for the NDC, Mr Zu, on September 19, 2019, made some unsavoury comments about the Okyenhene and the town.

He is reported to have said that if not for the intervention of former President John Mahama, the Okyenhene, together with natives of the town, will still be ‘drinking water with animals.’

The comment attracted anger from the people of Kyebi who took to the streets Monday, September 23, to demand an apology from Mr Zu and the NDC.

But, on Thursday, December 5, 2019, a high powered delegation, led by the National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, rendered an unqualified apology over the unsavoury comments from Mr Zu to the Okyenhene and natives of Akyem Abuakwa.
