A message from the premier University of Ghana has sent waves of electric shocks to students especially those with very poor grades.
According to the management of the school, continuing students in level 200 and 300 with less than 1.0 CGPA would be sacked .
In a letter written by management of the school, it was revealed that students from three colleges notably Applied Science, Humanities and Education will be put to this testing.
According to the school, this directive was in line with the modifications to its regulations governing the progression and withdrawal processes as signed by Director of Academic Affairs, L. A Nyako-Danquah.
“With reference to section 9.26 of the University Regulations for junior Members ( 2017 ), on receipt of grades for all registered courses for an academic year, undergraduate students who do not achieve the stipulated minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average ( CGPA ) for progression to the next level of study should be withdrawn from give University. Presently, the minimum CGPA prescribed for the above-listed colleges is 1.00”. the statement read in parts.
Consequently, students in level 200 and 300 who just completed the 2022/2023 academic year have been advised to check their academic performance through the online provisional transcripts.
Sadly, students who recorded very CGPA less than 1.00 have been told they would soon receive withdrawal letters.
Parts of the statement also revealed that students who already paid their 2024 tuition fees would be refunded upon request.
They further revealed that all affected students who require support or clarifications should contact the academic affairs for help and clarification.
