The Paramount Chief of Nsein Traditional Area, Nana Awulae Kwame Agyefi, has revealed that the 4More4Nana slogan that was trumpeted by New Patriotic Party fanatics prior to the 2020 general elections has been a disaster for the people of the Western region in terms of infrastructural developments.
He stated that the much-touted slogan #4more4Nana has not served its purpose since the government has failed miserably to alleviate Ghanaians’ suffering and hence develop the western region, adding that the present NPP does not care about the people in the region.
He further said that the region, which is the mother of agriculture activities for the country, is wallowing in developmental challenges despite the resources banked in the region.
He stressed that the Agona Nkwata to Elubo and Tarkwa highway, which serves as the international stretch of road, is now a death trap and very difficult for drivers to ply the road, so commuters had to spend three days on the road before reaching their various destinations.
He said many appeals were made to the government to construct the road, but all efforts proved futile.
Initially, the predicament was partially managed but still, there are many bad roads at Kojokrom which linked the main road which is used to travel to other neighbouring countries”
He added that the Akufo-Addo-led government has not fulfilled his promises made to them after voting massively for the NPP government.
Nana Awulae Agyefi Kwame made these comments during a press briefing on the state of the Western region at his village farm in Nsein.
Awulae Agyefi appealed to traditional authorities in the Western region to put pressure on the government because Akufo-Addo can’t just take the region that produced the country’s first president for granted.
“We the chiefs and the people are tired of promises upon promises without action. Since the government took over from the NDC we have not witnessed any significant changes in our lives ”
