Bawumia will inflict a third successive defeat on Mahama in 2024, says Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo says he believes Vice-President Bawumia will provide a strong leadership that will take on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections.

The president urged the supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to unite behind the new flagbearer to win the upcoming election.

Speaking at the outdooring of the new flagbearer at the Accra Sports Stadium, Akufo-Addo said, “Everything went very well today, very transparent and peaceful…sixteen years of work for the party in opposition and in government has been rewarded by the party by this leadership has been conferred on you.”

“I’m confident that Mahamudu Bawumia would be able to unite this party with the assistance of Kennedy Agyapong and all the other contestants and provide a strong leadership that will take on the NDC in 2024 and inflict a third successive defeat on John Dramani Mahama…” the president said.

“I’ve done my best but I still have one more task to do and that is with all my strength, all my energy to help Bawumia win the election of 2024. Ghana cannot afford the return of the NDC, especially under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama,” Akufo-Addo added.
