The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has sent notice to six government institutions indicating their intention to embark on a nationwide strike on November 29, 2023,
Among the organizations involved are the National Labour Commission, the Ministries of Employment and Labor Relations, National Security, Finance, and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.
A press release issued on Monday, November 20, signed by MOWAG’s general secretary, Richard Kofi Jordan, stated that the organization had already voiced its concerns and sought a better resolution. After that, on Wednesday, November 22, the press release was sent to the institutions mentioned above.
According to the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG), it decided to embark on an indefinite nationwide strike at its general meeting as all avenues to resolve its grievances have proven “futile.”
