Add traditional religion, priesthood part of the curriculum to enlighten our future — Nana Alhaji

A fetish priest, Nana Alhaji at Kumasi Asuofua in the ashanti region, has expressed worry over how children who choose to practice fetish priesthood during talent shows are shattered.

“It is very worrying to shatter children for choosing fetish priesthood during talent shows. Meanwhile, it is part of us and it is accepted. Why do we always want to shattered talented people who good in those fields?”. He quizzed.

The fetish priest Nana Alhaji, therefore called on the government and other stakeholders in our education to as a matter of urgency add traditional religion as compulsion part of the lessons the children learn.

According to him, it was very worrying how we intentionally reject traditional religion which is part of the main religions in Ghana. He said, it was time we desisted from making it a laughing stock and started regarding it as part of the major life guides in the society we are building.

By adding it as part of the serious lessons we treat in schools, the traditionalist believes that the country is going to transform.

He said, it was very important to teach children especially the KGs, nurseries, primaries about the nananomsom, rivers, festivals, bragoro etc.

Spoke in an interview with *Asona Dehyie Kwateng* disclosed that, introducing traditional religion as part of our curriculum would enable the children to live responsible lives in the future.

According to them, educating and encouraging people in practices such as puberty rites, dressings etc would usher them into great futures, unlike modern times where we have lots of teenagers pregnancies and other defiant behaviors in the system.
