Election 2024: NDC poised for victory – Embarks on health walks

The enthusiastic supporters and sympathisers of the NDC took to the streets in Yendi, where the regional event took place, while that of New Juaben South took place in Koforidua as part of efforts to garner support for the party.

Clad in party T-shirts and displaying other party paraphernalia, the supporters also lined up tricycles and different scooters (Okada) with their riders engaged in displays, adding colour to the exercise which drew many people to stand by the roadside watching.

Yendi

In Yendi, Mohammed Fugu reports that the Northern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Adolf Ali Mburidiba, stated that the party was poised to secure victory in the region in the upcoming election.

He said the party was working very hard and mobilising all the needed resources to ensure the region voted decisively for change to reset the country.

“We are committed to delivering the Northern Region for the NDC in this election. Our plans are in place and our strategy is clear,” he stated. He reiterated the party’s commitment to maintain vigilance and safeguard the integrity of the electoral process on December 7.

Failed MP

For his part, the NDC parliamentary aspirant for Yendi, Alhassan Abdul-Fataw, said the incumbent MP had failed the people of Yendi and must be kicked out of Parliament on December 7.

The Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mustapha Gbande, called for unity among the rank and file of the party to enable them to chart a common course for victory in December.

Change message

Addressing party supporters and sympathisers shortly after the walk in Koforidua, the National Youth Organiser, George Opare-Addo, urged them to carry the message of change to every home in the constituency to draw them to the side of NDC, reports Haruna Yussif Wunpini from Koforidua.

NDC aspirants

The NDC Constituency Chairman, Sellassie Amuzu, urged the electorate to vote for the flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama and the parliamentary aspirants for New Juaben South, Dr Martin Otu Offei and that of New Juaben North, Samuel Adongo since the President needed a majority of parliamentarians to be on the side of the NDC to implement the party’s development programmes.

The Eastern Regional Youth Organiser, Richard Etornam Nyarko, who dwell on the current economic hardship, said Ghanaians, especially the youth should vote for Mr Mahama to better their future.

“When we go to the market to buy food products and other items, we get to know things are expensive and has affected the ordinary Ghanaian”, Mr Nyarko stated.
