Dr. Lawrence writes: Boot for Boot: What happened to it?

As the 2024 elections get closer, we the grassroots and ghettos want to draw attention to the leadership of the NDC on the below statements and link them to some past events to see if we make sense.

We don’t want to be like the American 2024 Olympic Men’s 4 x 100m Team, who trained so hard on how to win the Gold prize but didn’t pay much attention to the little things like changing of the baton. They “lost” the race because they couldn’t properly change the baton.

The five statements are:
*1.* A philosopher once said that rigging of elections is not an event. It is a process. So before the first vote is cast, the election is already rigged.
*2.* Another philosopher said that those who vote on Election Day don’t win elections. The winners are those who count the votes.
*3.* A voter in Ghana told the NDC that, they will vote for them if only NDC can protect those votes
*4.* We should be mindful that the lawyer President has turned Ghana into a failed, lawless state. He is both lawless and stubborn.
*5.* An NPP is on record to have said they will use strategy to beat the NDC in 2024.

Let me now link the above 5 statements to past events in Ghana.

Dr. Peter Appiahene, an IT Expert and an NPP member was appointed a commissioner at the EC. The NDC protested and some MPs took him to court. Today, Dr. Appiahene is a commissioner at the EC. Strategically, is he not doing what he was appointed to do? Does this not link to statements 1, 3, 4 and 5 above? Don’t ask me what the NDC should have done. Boot for Boot should not make us timid and helpless.

Some 7 laptops and Biometric machines got missing at the EC office even though, the machines were under CCTV cameras and also under military protection. Another EC equipment was found in Nsawam. Do we know how the machines got out of the EC and what they were used for? Was someone jailed for that? Whatever they were used for is still in the system. Is that why the EC is refusing a forensic audit? Does this not link to statements 1, 2, 3 and 4 above?

During the balloting for positions on the ballot paper, in the clear view of the cameras, we saw the NPP struggling to swap balls to get number 1. The NDC allowed that to pass because we were comfortable with position 8.
The problem here is, the NPP knows that about 6 million of their members, supporters and sympathizers are fools, who don’t vote on issues and common sense. All what the NPP will tell them and in the villages is to vote for the candidate on top. We should not underestimate why NPP needed the number 1. Does this not link to statements 1. 2, 4 and 5?

The NDC has called for a forensic audit of the voters register. I will not comment on it now because it is work in progress. When the corrected provisional register is received next week, we will know that to do or say.

In a press statement by the NDC after the IPAC meeting last week, they said on number 5 that the EC has a vulnerable IT system which is susceptible to its officials. (Including Dr. Appiahene)
If this vulnerability is not completely fixed by November 15, 2024, wouldn’t that be linked to statements 1, 2, 3,4 and 5 above?

I know the leadership of the NDC knows we have a crucial election to win, so when will they activate the Boot for Boot thing? Any of the above events could have activated Boot for Boot.
Is the NDC leadership waiting to activate it on December 8? Who will listen to them? We would have once again missed a golden opportunity. We don’t want to be like the American 2024 Olympic Men’s 4 x 100m Team, who worked very hard but lost everything because of an oversight.
I will write about Do or Die next week.

Vote for number 8, and
Vote for the Umbrella.
Aba no Mahama Afa.

Signed..
