Stringent Measures Needed to Reclaim Ghana’s Collapsed Economy Under Akufo-Addo Administration – NDC’s General Secretary

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has sounded the alarm on the state of Ghana’s economy under the Akufo-Addo administration, emphasizing the need for stringent measures to revamp the collapsed economy. This stark reality is a far cry from the lofty expectations surrounding his much-touted economic prowess of the economic management team with Dr Bawumia as the head, which has failed to yield the desired results.

According to Kwetey, the economy’s downward spiral necessitates a comprehensive overhaul, entailing bold and decisive actions to rectify the situation. This sentiment echoes the concerns of many Ghanaians who have borne the brunt of the economic downturn, characterized by rising inflation, currency fluctuations, and stagnant growth under Akufo Addo.

In a damning indictment of the Akufo-Addo administration’s economic management, Kwetey’s assertion underscores the perceived disconnect between the government’s rhetoric and the harsh realities on the ground. The NDC General Secretary’s comments serve as a clarion call for NDCs government to reassess its economic policies and strategies, with a view to salvaging the economy and restoring the confidence of the Ghanaian people.

John Mahama has outlined a comprehensive plan to revitalize Ghana’s ailing economy, showcasing his readiness to tackle the challenges head-on.

John Mahama’s proposed 24-hour economy policy aims to increase economic growth, productivity, and job creation, while reducing imports and improving the overall socioeconomic conditions.

Mahama’s commitment to prudent financial management, fiscal discipline, and anti-corruption measures is evident in his proposals.

He plans to reduce government expenditure, streamline agencies, and promote private sector involvement to stimulate economic growth.

Additionally, he intends to establish a comprehensive policy framework, legislation, and regulations to support businesses operating 24/7, ensuring workers’ rights and protection.

President Mahama’s emphasis on investing in infrastructure, technology, and human resources development demonstrates his understanding of the economy’s needs. Ultimately, by promoting a 24-hour economy, Mahama aims to increase productivity, meet market demand, and reduce excessive imports, ultimately improving the living standards of Ghanaians.
