The Centre for Employment of Persons with Disabilities (CEPD) extends its heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, for his visionary leadership in considering the private member bill submitted by the Honorable Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu.
This significant proposal seeks to establish a 5% employment quota for persons with disabilities in both the public and private sectors, as well as ensure free tertiary education for persons with disabilities.

By championing this policy, His Excellency has reaffirmed his dedication to the empowerment and economic independence of persons with disabilities, recognizing their invaluable contributions to national development.
The introduction of a dedicated employment quota will create new economic opportunities, while free tertiary education will equip persons with disabilities with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in various fields.
Mr Alexander Kojo Tetteh posited that CEPD is highly encouraged by this development and stands ready to partner with the government in ensuring the effective implementation of these policies.
