The Chief of Techiman Krobo and Kyidomhene of the Techiman Traditional Area, Oyeadeye Asa Akompanin, has appealed to government authorities to prioritize the resumption and completion of critical road infrastructure projects in the area.
while delivering a speech at a ceremony held at the college’s event grounds to celebrate its recognition as the Best Nursing & Midwifery Training College and to honor the overall best student in the KNUST nursing examinations, Oyeadeye Asa Akompanin, called for immediate attention to the long-abandoned town roads in Krobo, as well as access roads leading to the Krobo Nursing and Midwifery Training College and the Senior High School.
According to him, the construction of the Krobo town roads was awarded to a contractor during the tenure of Hon. Alex Kofi Kyeremeh as the MP for Techiman North. However, the project was abandoned when the NDC left office. Nana called on the District Chief Executive, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, Member of Parliament and Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, and other local stakeholders to, as a matter of urgency, ensure the completion of the Krobo town roads, as well as the access roads leading to the Krobo Nursing and Midwifery Training College and the Senior High School.
“During the tenure of Hon. Alex Kyeremeh as the Member of Parliament for Techiman, the construction of our town roads was awarded to a contractor. Unfortunately, the project was abandoned after he left office.
“Now that your government is in power, I urge you to prioritize the completion of our town roads. We were informed that the road construction included access roads to the Krobo Nursing and Midwifery Training College and the Senior High School. I therefore kindly appeal to you to ensure that the contract is re-awarded and that work resumes as soon as possible.” He stated
Oyeadeye Asa Akompanin revealed that improving road infrastructure will significantly enhance mobility for residents and students, reduce transportation challenges, and contribute to the overall development of the community.
