In a historic move to advance the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 (UNSCR2250), the International Youth Network for UNSCR2250 (IYNUNSCR2250) and Word of Life Ministries International (WOLMI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 21, 2025, during the Christian Ambassadors Day and Awards ceremony at the Rosen Center in Orlando.
The MOU, signed by H.E. Rev. Dr. Lilian Sally Addo, Global President of IYNUNSCR2250, and H.E. Professor Dr. Phillip Phinn, signifies a landmark partnership aimed at empowering youth worldwide to actively participate in peacebuilding and conflict resolution efforts.
This strategic collaboration seeks to promote peace, security, and the active participation of youth in decision-making processes, as outlined in UNSCR2250.
The partnership between IYNUNSCR2250 and WOLMI, an organization accredited with the United Nations and holding Consultative Status, will facilitate joint initiatives to enhance diplomacy, peace, and security.
Specifically, the MOU establishes a partnership between CICA International and ITC DPS to collaborate on training initiatives.
Founded in the United States by Dr.Lilian Sally Addo and co-founder Gibril Ahijo, IYNUNSCR2250 is dedicated to empowering youth to become effective agents of change in their communities and beyond.
Dr. Addo’s vision for the organization is to see a world where youth are recognized as key partners in building peaceful, inclusive, and resilient societies.
“We envision a future where young people are empowered to contribute to sustainable peace and development, in alignment with the principles of UNSC Resolution 2250,” Dr. Addo stated.
Through this partnership, IYNUNSCR2250 and WOLMI will work together to provide youth with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources to become effective peacebuilders.
The partnership also underscores the importance of networking and collaboration in advancing the goals of UNSCR2250.
Dr. Addo and Gibril Ahijo believe that partnership and networking are key to achieving the organization’s objectives, fostering dialogue, exchange of ideas, and mutual support among youth-led organizations and stakeholders globally.
Word of Life Ministries International (WOLMI), established in 1985 under the leadership of Right Reverend Dr. Phillip S. Phinn, has a long history of collaboration with the United Nations. In 1996, WOLCF became the first full-gospel church to be granted NGO Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), enabling it to appoint ambassadorial representatives to UN offices worldwide.
This landmark partnership between IYNUNSCR2250 and WOLMI marks a significant move towards promoting youth-led peacebuilding and security initiatives globally. Undoubtedly, by working together, these organizations aim to create a more peaceful and secure world, where young people are empowered to contribute to sustainable development and peace.
