The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Techiman North in the Bono East Region, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, has undertaken a comprehensive tour of all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centers across the constituency.
The visit, which forms part of his commitment to education and youth development, was aimed at motivating and encouraging candidates as they sit for this year’s crucial examination.
The BECE, which commenced nationwide earlier this week, is a significant milestone in the academic journey of thousands of Junior High School (JHS) students.
Hon. Adom Johnson and his team, during the tour, made it a priority to visit each center within the Techiman North District to interact with the candidates. According to him, this was in recognition of the importance of the examination in the lives of the candidates.
At every center, the DCE offered words of encouragement, reminding the students that the examination marks a key step toward their future aspirations. He urged them to remain focused, confident, and determined, assuring them that their hard work would pay off.
“You are the future leaders of this country, and everything begins with education. This examination is not just a test of what you’ve learned but a gateway to your dreams. Put in your best effort, stay calm, and believe in yourselves,” he told candidates.
He also commended teachers, headteachers, and invigilators for their dedication to preparing the students, and ensuring the smooth conduct of the exams. He disclosed that the role of educators and stakeholders cannot be overstated, especially in rural communities where extra commitment is often required to support learning.
Hon. Johnson reiterated the government’s continuous investment in education infrastructure, teaching and learning materials, and support systems to ensure that no child is left behind, regardless of their background.
“Education remains a top priority for this government. We are committed to ensuring that every child, no matter where they come from, has access to quality education through improved infrastructure, adequate teaching materials, and the right support systems.” He stated
The tour covered all major examination centers in the district, including those in Tuobodom, Offuman, Buoyem, and Aworowa, among others.
The Techiman North DCE reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting quality education and pledged to continue championing initiatives that empower the youth and enhance academic performance across the district.
