MP Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui and NERO Beverages Commission Ultra-Modern School Block to Foster Academic Excellence in Awutu Senya West

On June 20, 2025, a momentous occasion unfolded at Zakarikope SDA Basic School, as Honourable Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West and Minister for Works, Housing, and Water Works, partnered with NERO Beverages to commission an ultra-modern school block. This landmark project, comprising three state-of-the-art classrooms, marks a Paramount mile in the quest to eradicate the scourge of outdoor classrooms and provide a lasting solution to the perennial problem of inadequate classrooms, thereby fostering academic excellence.

The genesis of this initiative was a prove to Honourable Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui’s unrelenting commitment to promoting education in Ghana. Her visionary leadership prompted her to reach out to NERO Beverages Limited, a distinguished Indian company with a strong presence in Ghana, to collaborate on this endeavour. The company’s Managing Director, Mr. Manab, and Executive Director, Eric, reaffirmed their organization’s dedication to supporting education, unveiling an ambitious plan to construct six-unit classrooms in all 275 constituencies across the country.

At the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Manab eloquently articulated the company’s philosophy, stating, “Education is the key to success.”

He urged students to cultivate a studious mindset, take their academic pursuits seriously, and strive to become future leaders who can propel Ghana’s growth and development.

Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui echoed this sentiment, encouraging the pupils to excel academically, with some potentially rising to become Members of Parliament and great leaders in Ghana.

She also emphasized the importance of maintenance culture, exhorting the community to ensure the longevity of the newly commissioned edifice, so it can serve future generations. In a demonstration of her tremendous commitment to education, Honourable Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui proceeded to the Educational Directorate at the District Assembly, where she donated 600 sturdy desks to the Director of Education.

These desks will be distributed to schools across the constituency, further enhancing the learning environment and promoting academic excellence.

The ceremony was graced by a distinguished gathering of traditional authorities, educational directors, teachers, opinion leaders, constituency executives, branch executives, market women, farmers, and the entire community, all of whom were united in their appreciation for this noble initiative.
