Story by Phalonzy

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has issued a clarion call to Ghanaian youth, urging them to transcend the paradigm of job seekers and instead become the vanguard of job creators, innovators, and leaders.

In a stirring address at the launch of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) Junior Chamber Initiative at the University of Ghana,Mr. Debrah underscored the imperative of bridging the chasm between academic knowledge and practical business acumen.

“We must forge an indissoluble link between theoretical knowledge and pragmatic business experience,” he exhorted, highlighting the GNCCI Junior Chamber as a potent catalyst for change.

Mr.Debrah expressed profound concern over the burgeoning youth unemployment rate, citing a staggering 1.4 million young Ghanaians bereft of employment opportunities, with 22.3% of them being university graduates.

He galvanized the students, urging them to harness their latent potential and translate their dreams into tangible realities.

“When we empower our youth with the requisite skills, networks, and platforms, they will not merely seek employment—they will create it,” he emphasized.

To kindle the entrepreneurial spirit within the students, the government will collaborate with the GNCCI Junior Chamber to facilitate exposure visits to trailblazing entrepreneurs, cutting-edge manufacturing sites, and the Office of the President. This forward-thinking initiative seeks to equip students with the skills, networks, and platforms necessary to propel Ghana’s economic metamorphosis.
