There’s wisdom in Akan proverb – Boris Johnson

There is wisdom in Akan proverb UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said.

To demonstrate what sets the UK apart as one of the biggest investors and partners in Africa at the UK-Africa investment summit on Monday 20 January 2020 in the UK, Mr Johnson quoted the proverb – All fingers are not the same – which in Akan says ‘Nsatea nyinaa nny? p?’.

Mr Johnson said he picked up the proverb during his visit in Ghana.

He said – all fingers are not the same – to explain his point that “all countries are not the same and the UK boast a breadth and depth of expertise that simply cannot be matched by any other nation.”

Proverbs are one of the rich traditions that build the fabric of a life in Ghana. They are wise sayings that are used to season the language of the people to make it more beautiful.

“All fingers are not the same… and all countries are not the same”
