Enough of the ideas, start the action – Bantamahene to government

The Chief of Bantama in the Ashanti Region, Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, has urged the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) to move beyond churning out good ideas and get down to work.

According to the Chief, the Ashanti Region particularly Kumasi is yet to experience action in terms of development especially their road network which is in a deplorable condition.

“Our roads are in poor condition, I listened to Hon. Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu speak. When we talk about ideas, in this world I’m not sure any government has better ideas more than the NPP government. But my advice is that the NPP should put the ideas aside and start doing the action. President Akufo Addo should just do action for the people of Ashanti Region. Our roads are bad, they should be fixed. We need action now from the NPP government, we know you have great ideas but let’s see action. Do our roads and bridges for us.”

Bantamahene said while addressing a gathering when he represented the Asantehene at the inauguration of the 8th Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and swearing-in of new assembly members on Thursday.

Some critics have slammed the Akufo Addo led government for not ensuring much development in Ashanti Region which is the ruling party’s stronghold.

They’ve also chided the government for refusing to complete some projects in the region commenced by the erstwhile Mahama administration including the 500-bed Military Hospital project at Afare.

The 250-bed hospital project at Sewia and Kumawu hospital have all been abandoned.
