Aduana Stars forward, Yahaya Mohammed is confident to prove his worth if given the opportunity by Black Stars Head Coach, James Kwasi Appiah for the upcoming Africa Cup Of Nations in Egypt with the final squad almost decided.
Huge interest continues to follow the naming of the 23 men who will be tasked to win the title to end a sprawling 37-year title drought for the West African nation.
With a provisional squad expected to be unveiled in May with the final team to be named in June, the confident-looking Yaya Mohammed maintains that he can help Kwesi Appiah’s men to clinch the trophy if given the chance to represent the nation in Egypt.
“I deserve a place in coach Kwesi Appiah squad if there are no injuries. I will be a better player to help Ghana at the AFCON”, he told Nimde3 FM.
Apart from featuring for the silver medal-winning Local Black Stars team at the CHAN 2014 in South Africa, the former Asante Kotoko man has never played for the mainstream Black Stars team.
For the June 21-July 19 AFCON, Appiah’s outfit have been drawn in Group F which also contains five-time champions and cup holders Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau.
