Man beats wife to death

A deadly blow from a farmer, Mr. Eric Olowokande, on his wife, Mojere, has led to her death.

The incident happened at Yaba street in Idanre, Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Witnesses said Eric had a quarrel with his wife and it led to fighting which made him to hit her hard.

The wife was said to have fallen down and rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.

Her death made her husband fled to evade arrest.

The remains of the deceased have been deposited at General Hospital, Idanre.

Ondo Police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the incident and said the husband has been arrested.

He said investigation has commenced into the killing.
