Mubarak Wakaso Apologises for NDC-NPP comments

Black Stars midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso, has been forced to apologize for comments he made suggesting that partisan politics between the NDC and NPP, is to blame for Ghana’s inability to win an AFCON title since 1982.

Speaking to Angel TV in an interview, Mubarak Wakaso who is one of the leading football stars in the national team said he will blame the Stars’ failure on the dirty politics in the country.

“I will speak the truth today, do you know our problem about the game? Maybe we know but we don’t want to say it but i think politics ruins the Blacks Stars at times. When NDC is in power, NPP doesn’t want us to win and vice versa”.

His comments have since sparked outrage from the general population, with many disagreeing with Wakaso’s assertion and see the comments as attempts by the player to absolve the players of all blame.

It appears the heat has gotten to the former Villareal and Celtic man, who has issued an apology via his twitter handle.
