Jailing NAM 1 won’t give us our money – Lawyer Maurice Ampaw

Private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw has disclosed that arresting and jailing Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1 will not guarantee customers their locked up cash.

According to him, customers are rather looking forward to when they will receive their monies after his return into the country from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where he was in detention for months.

“We are not interested in the arrest and jailing of NAM 1. What we are interested in is our money and when it will be paid to us. Jailing NAM 1 is not a guarantee we will get out investments locked up with Menzgold”, he disclosed on Kumasi-based Otec Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

He continued “what we the customers are looking for is our money. All monies and properties of NAM taken by Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) must also be accounted for so that he will know how to use that to offset his debts. I am optimistic a lot of money is coming in from Dubai which will help him pay all his debts”.

Mr. Maurice Ampaw insists the embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold is a genuine businessman who has not committed any crime to warrant the kind of treatment he is receiving.

While admitting he is among the thousands of customers whose investments have been locked up at Menzgold, he said he feels insulted when he and other “Menzgolders” are called greedy.

He has therefore taken on appointees of the current new Patriotic Party (NPP) administration observing that their utterances are provoking the aggrieved customers which he is part.

Maurice Ampaw had earlier indicated that his close family members are among numerous Ghanaians whose investments with the gold trading hub is likely go waste according to a statement by the lawyer himself, MyNewsGh.com can report.
