Police on man-hunt for suspected burkinabe criminal

A Burkinabe National is on the wanted list of the Ghana Police Service in the Upper East Region for alleged theft.

Abdulai Bari, the suspect, is 26 years old and an ex-convict who lives in Takuna in Navrongo and is alleged to be the one after a set of robberies on the Navrongo-Naaga road.

He was identified by a victim of a robbery incident which took place on the same road on 22nd a march,2020 where the suspect in the company of 6 other armed men, blocked the road to vehicles and robbed them of an Apsonic motorbike with registration M-20 UE 4341, five mobile phones, a purse containing cash sum of GHS500, passport pictures and cash the sum of GHS3,000 and fled.

According to the Police, a search in the suspect’s room in the presence of his wife revealed the passport photos and a key to the Apsonic motorbike of one of his victims.

Abdulai Bari alias Sambo is currently on the run which the police is hunting him to be arrested.

He is said to be 5 inches tall, a little fair in complexion with dark hair, brown eyes, slim built and has a tribal mark on his right cheek.

The ex-convict was last seen in Navrongo on 17th April 2020 and is beloved to in his hideout around Sandema, Fumbisi, Navrongo or Yagba.

An arrest warrant has since been fastened by the Navrongo Police at the Magistrate court for his arrest for the offence of robbery contrary to section 149 of the Criminal Offences Act,1960(Act.29).

The police are therefore imploring the public to assist in fishing out this notorious robber for his arrest and prosecution.
