Ghana Gas debunks COPEC’s lower quality claims

The Ghana National Gas Company has dismissed claims by the Chamber of Petroleum Consumer (COPEC) that the liquefied petroleum gas being supplied is of lower quality.

Executive Secretary of COPEC, Duncan Amoah, had earlier made the claim.

He had raised red flag over the quality of liquefied petroleum gas being supplied by the Atuabo Gas Company.

Copec had signaled that the product from the company was contaminated and
believed the situation could cause explosion if not checked.

But a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications of Ghana Gas, Ernest Kofi Owusu-Bempah Bonsu, says the quality of LPG and the standards for quality determination of LPG are in alignment with both local and international standards.

It says LPG produced from Atuabo Gas plant is a rich and sweet feedstock with negligible/trace amounts of undeniable compounds.
