The Managing Director of the State Housing Company Limited (SHC), Kwabena Ampofo Appiah has revealed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will secretly mobilize its members to register for the new voters’ register for the 2020 elections.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been battling with the Electoral Commission (EC) over its decision to compile a new voters’ register.
Kwabena Ampofo Appiah said the NDC will secretly mobilize its members to take part in the upcoming new voter’s registration exercise after all the demonstrations in town.
“The NDC has exhibited its hypocrisy to the highest level by openly kicking against the move but secretly lobbying members to go out and register if the EC announces a date for the new voter’s register exercise,’’ Kwabena Ampofo Appiah told Reynold Agyemang on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
The EC, on the other hand, says the compilation of new voters’ register for the 2020 elections will begin late June.
The NDC and some other political parties under the umbrella, Inter-Party Resistance against New Voters’ Register, have sworn to resist the Electoral Commission’s decision to compile a new voters’ register but the question most political pundits have been asking is whether the party will urge its members to participate in the registration exercise which is scheduled for late June.
