Paramount Chief of Nyankpala Traditional area passes away

The Paramount Chief of the Nyankpala Traditional Area in the Tolon District of the Northern Region, Alhaji Abdulai Yakubu is dead.

Sources revealed that he died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was on admission responding to treatment after falling ill in the course of last weekend.

He has since been buried in accordance with the customs and traditions of the area

“It is true the chief is dead. He was buried on Thursday, July 23, 2020, in accordance with the tradition of Dagbon. He was in his late 70s”, a source revealed.

The chief is fondly remembered for his resolve to improve on the standards of education in the area by banning late night entertainment in Nyankpala.

He recently appealed to the government and other relevant stakeholders in education to help with the needed educational infrastructure and other facilities in this regard.
