Baba Gariba Adams, the Assin Central NDC Constituency Chairman of the NDC is a threat to the party’s chances in the 2020 Presidential and parliamentary elections.
Much has been made about the new lease of energy that has visited the National Democratic Congress since the dynamic Nurein Shaibu Migyimah came to the scene as the parliamentary candidate of the party in the Assin Central Constituency. With the rebranded NDC seemingly making a breakthrough in the Assin enclave, the only point of diversion is the anti party activities of Mr. Baba Gariba who has simply sought to quench the momentum of the rescue mission.
Baba Gariba has simply refused to partake in party activities and even refuses to attend meetings called at his behest. While it is not strange on his part to neglect his responsibility, this “chairman at large” has taken steps to bring the party into disrepute.
In his periodic radio attacks on the Parliamentary candidate and the NDC in general, Baba Gariba has dared the rank and file of the party to take steps to reign him in line when fellow executives questioned him about the whereabout of the party’s only Mahindra Pick Up car which has mysteriously disappeared over the last two years.
Strangely enough, the regional leadership has been sharply divided over the issue due to some reported gains being made by the Regional Treasurer, Eric Essuah, a friend of the central regional minister, Kwamena Duncan and a beneficiary of the “golden age” of cronyism. This central regional NDC treasurer who was fingered for supporting an independent candidate in Agona East, and an avowed agenda 2024 anti- Mahama kingpin, has largely escaped the antagonism of the belligerent NPP as he freely does his construction and timber business.
In a meeting with the former NDC candidate at Adansi Asokwa, Lawyer Evans Amankwaa on Monday 28th of September, 2020 at the Assin Foso District court, Baba Gariba sought legal assistance from the learned man to place an injunction on the candidature of Nurein Shaibu Migyimah, who the chairman claims was illegally cleared to contest the parliamentary elections by the National Executive Council of the NDC.
It is important for the rank and file of the party to bring this diabolic chairman and his few miscreants to book so that Ghana can finally be sure that the Kennedy Agyapong disaster in parliament can be cured.
A word is enough for the willing and the wise. The NDC is full of willing wise men. Act now!
