A former Municipal Chief Executive for Suhum in the Eastern Region and Deputy spokesperson for the National Democratic Congress(NDC) campaign team, Margaret Ansei has touted the achievements of former President John Dramani Mahama in the Ashanti Region unparalleled.
Speaking on Angel FM’s flagship program, ‘Angel in the Morning’, she described the former President’s achievement as unprecedented and called on Ashantis to vote based on visible infrastructural records in the region.
“NPP has been unfair to the people of Ashanti region; for the past four years, they have not completed a single project in the region. Construction of Kejetia central market redevelopment project, Tafo, Atonsu and Asawase Markets providing the safe environment for over 60,000 traders, Mampong water project, Konongo – kumawu – kwahu water project and expansion of Barekese dam, 500-bed military hospital and 150 staff housing unit at Afari just to mention a few. You can do your checks as journalists. I would need 10hours to mention all the projects,” she stated.
She told the host of the show, ”What has the New Patriotic Party(NPP) done for the Ashanti Region Region since they took over power? Absolutely nothing. The people thought the region will be this government’s outmost priority but what do we see today?. So how can you take such a government seriously.”
She rallied Ashanti Region to come out in their numbers to ‘angrily’ vote against the NPP in the December polls.
According to her, Mahama can be trusted judging from the good works he did for this region. “I entreat all of us to translate our anger into votes and kick this family and friends government out of power.”
The NDC gathered more than 500,000 votes in the Ashanti Region for Presidential race in the 2016 elections.
