One of the badly injured victims of last week’s gas explosion disaster at Mighty Gas filling station in Ho in the Volta Region has died
The only female victim died at the Ho Teaching Hospital where she was on admission with 13 others since the incident occurred on November 11, 2020.
A local website Volta online reports that the deceased, who is a mother of three was at the filling station that morning to buy LPG for her bakery business when the unfortunate incident occurred.
At least 14 persons were injured in the gas explosion disaster at Mighty Gas filing station located few meters away from the Ho Teaching Hospital along the Ho-Kpetoe road.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly to the incident and brought the inferno under control preventing it from spreading to other properties.
The injured persons were chiefly gas attendants and some drivers who went to refill their cylinders.
Public Relations Officer of Ho Teaching Hospital Mr. Amos Jah, in an interview with Ho 92.5 FM said the injured persons included 13 males and a female. He said three of the victims are in critical conditions hence sent to the surgical theater and intensive Care Unit.
Many of the victims are however responding to treatment.
