Frank Freebody Mensah, the Municipal Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in Agona West, has donated a substantial amount of money to the Gomoa Osamkrom Prisons to aid in the construction of a vital security post.
This gesture comes after a recent visit to the prison facility, where he met with the Commander in charge, Chief Superintendent Alexander Otu Bekoe, and other senior officers.
During the meeting, the prison authorities highlighted the need for a security post along a stretch of road leading to the prison yard, which has unfortunately become a hotspot for criminal activities. Moved by the concerns raised, Mr. Freebody Mensah felt compelled to offer financial support to address this pressing issue. The donation, made on June 11, 2025, is aimed at enhancing security, deterring criminal activities, and promoting a safer environment for the Gomoa Osamkrom Prison community and the general public. The Commander in charge, Chief Superintendent Alexander Otu Bekoe, and his team expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Freebody Mensah for his generosity and encouraged other stakeholders to emulate this act of goodwill.
In a statement, Freebody Mensah emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing security challenges.
“We believe that by working together, we can create a safer and more secure tomorrow for our communities,” he said. “This initiative is a testament to our commitment to contributing positively to the noble work of the Gomoa Osamkrom Prisons and fostering a secure environment that supports the well-being of all.” The Gomoa Osamkrom Prisons and the YEA are hopeful that this initiative will set a precedent for other individuals, organizations, and philanthropists to support similar efforts.
He said by joining forces, they can make a meaningful impact in enhancing security and promoting community well-being in Agona West and its enclaves.
