The sad story of a man who had his Ghc80,000 stolen at a gunpoint by armed robbers at Ahwiaa, has raised much concern as many suspect a certain man in question.

The victim who had gone to collect the money from one Benjamin Nketia, was subsequently robbed at Ahwiaa by unknown robbers who were suspected to have committed the heinous act upon tip-off.

Mr. Benjamin Nketia who was the only person who knew the victim’s next destination, according to a narration, has since been fingered as the prime suspect who would possibly give tip-off to these strange robbers.

“He gave me a lift after I had collected the money since I was going to Ahwiaa and he was going to Buokrom”. The victim revealed in an interview with the media.

According to the victim, while he was in Mr. Nketia’s car, he made him call the man he was going to meet at Ahwiaa.

He sought to find a direction from the man I was going to meet at Ahwiaa and he gave him the direction”.

He said, upon alighting at Ahwiaa Vulganiser, he observed two motorbikes; one was already standing and the other joined after he alighted from the trotro bus, thus according to the eyewitnesses who saw it.

One of them gave a signal that I was the one. A woman who was leading him to go and see the man he had gone to visit a Ahwiaa’s house, was pushed away and the guys asked him to give them his bag immediately of which he insisted. According to him, the aggressive robbers pulled a trigger which failed twice but they later succeeded in taking away his bag that had been filled with huge amounts of money, which is the Gh¢80,000.

The case was subsequently reported to the Mamponteng police station where an investigation was launched.

In the course of the investigation, a call was received from someone who claimed to have found my bag at Buokrom containing my driver’s license, passport, voter ID card etc.
