NDC’s Anita Desoso has said her party is not jolted by allegations leveled against their flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama and questioned the credibility of Mr Martin Amidu who has been tasked to investigate the former president.
Anita Desoso was emphatic on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that Martin Amidu is not someone to be scared of despite his differences with John Mahama.
“Martin Amidu is not God. He doesn’t even have his appointment letter as a Special Prosecutor, we are not afraid of him and we are not scared of the NPP as well. They [NPP] will rather suffer!” she said.
Anita Desoso’s comment comes after the presidency instructed the Office of the Special Prosecutor to collaborate with the U.K Serious Fraud Office to investigate the Ghanaian top official who was allegedly bribed by Airbus.
“President Akufo-Addo has taken notice of the judgment and its implications, and has referred it to the Office of the Special Prosecutor to collaborate with its UK counterparts to conduct a prompt inquiry to determine the complicity or otherwise of any Ghanaian government official, past or present, involved in the said scandal, and to take the necessary legal action against any such official, as required by Ghanaian law,” a statement from the presidency read.
Airbus has admitted that a top Ghanaian government official was among many officials from different countries the company bribed between 2009 and 2015 in exchange for contracts, which has led to a court in Britain slapping a fine of £3 billion on the company.
