In an appealing statement to the Ahafo Regional Council of State Representative dated on 23rd March, 2025, the former 2nd vice chairman of NPP, China Branch, Nana Moses has expressed deep concern about individuals who have been dismissed by the Authorities of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in Ahafo Region.
Statement as follows…
Dear Honorable Representative.
I write to you with a heavy heart and a deep sense of concern regarding a deeply troubling development that has the potential to destabilize the peace and dignity of our already small and close-knit Ahafo Region.
Early this morning in Goaso, I received devastating news that several hardworking individuals who received their appointment letters from the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in September and October 2024 have been summarily dismissed from their positions. This action reportedly follows a directive from the Chief of Staff aimed at terminating appointments dated December 7, 2024, and beyond.
It is important to clarify that the affected NHIS staff in question received their official appointment letters well before the stipulated December 7 cutoff. Therefore, their dismissal not only contradicts the stated directive but also stands as an unlawful and deeply unfair act against innocent citizens who have committed themselves to serve this nation.
Even more troubling is the fact that many of these individuals have already been receiving their basic salaries for the past few months, with some months still outstanding. Their sudden termination without proper justification raises serious questions about due process and administrative fairness.
Honorable, this kind of politically selective approach not only weakens public trust in state institutions but also threatens the broader vision of development for our Ahafo Region. We cannot build a prosperous region on a foundation of discrimination, exclusion, and disregard for merit.
The Ahafo Region, being relatively small in population, is particularly vulnerable to the ripple effects of such actions. These sudden and unjust terminations have already begun to breed anxiety, bitterness, and growing unrest among the affected individuals and their families. If not addressed promptly, this issue could pose a significant security risk within the region.
I humbly appeal to your high office to intervene in this matter with urgency and compassion. These young men and women do not deserve to be victims of a sweeping directive that clearly was not meant to affect them. They have done no wrong and should not be made to suffer for an error not of their making.
I trust in your sense of justice and your commitment to the people of Ahafo. Please, we plead with you to come to their aid and help restore their appointments before the situation escalates beyond control.
Thank you for your time and anticipated action on this matter.
Signed…
Former 2nd Vice Chairman of NPP China Branch
Nana Moses
