Armed robbers attack woman in daylight at Weija

Two of the gun-wielding men on motorbikes accosted the vehicle being driven by the victim, opened the back door, and bolted with a backpack containing the cash amid firing warning shots to ward off residents.

Reports say the victim who had gone to the bank to withdraw money earlier saw the robbers lurking around but did not suspect them to be criminals. They then pursued her to the area and attacked her in broad daylight.

The victim and one occupant who were visibly shaken by the attack gave an account of the incident to the Weija Police who visited the crime scene.

The Police have commenced investigations into the incident.
