Election 2020: Akufo Addo preventing Jean Mensah from announcing results in 24 Hours

Information picked by Ghanapoliticsonline.com indicates that, president Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party are preventing the chairperson of electoral commission Jean Mensah from announcing the presidential results which put the opposition leader His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in the lead.

Days ago, Jean Mensah promised Ghanaians that she will announce the results in 24 hours, but currently even though elections are done peacefully and all the results have been collated, the chairperson is not able to announce it because the president has lost and they are finding ways and means to push the elections to second round or declare win for Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Background

Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) Jean Mensa has defended her outfit’s commitment to declare the results of the 2020 elections in 24 hours.
According to her, this will help diffuse tension in the country.
