LISTEN TO THE AUDIO BELOW:

The man, who invaded the pitch during a game between the Black Stars of Ghana and South Africa in the opening fixture of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations at the Cape Coast Sports stadium, has broken his silence on the matter.

Giving his name as Awal, he told Joy News’ Richard Kwadwo Nyarko that he was harmless and only wanted to take a picture with Thomas Partey.

He indicated that he admires him very much and his admiration shot up after he scored the opener.

“I was only there to take a picture with Thomas Partey. I like him a lot and love how he plays,” he said.

The fan, a past student of Apam Senior High School, said he was a 400-metres runner for the school.

He schooled at the Nalerigu College of Nursing and is currently awaiting his postings.
