Bantama NPP Primaries: Asenso-Boakye Beats Ralph Agyapong, Kennedy’s Brother with 650 Votes

 

A new course has been taken by the 877 New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Bantama Constituency, who overwhelmingly voted for Asenso Boakye to lead the party in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections in the area.

Asenso Boakye, the incumbent member of parliament for the Bantama Constituency, who also serves as the Minister of State, and Works and Housing minister defeated Ralph Agyapong with 650 votes to his opponent’s 181 votes, a significant 419-vote margin.

The total list of delegates for the Bantama constituency is 877. Out of this, 832 were valet votes cast, 1 vote spoiled and 44 did not vote at all.

The Asenso win brought delegates and supporters to a standstill as they expressed their joy and happiness for retaining him as their upcoming MP for the constituency.

Asenso in his victory thanks giving speech said “Fear no delegate, but respect all delegates”.

He thanked all delegates for the massive endorsement and all party faithful to their support and appealed to them to continue to do so for the party come the December 7th, 2024 general election.

He further called for unity in the party and urged all party members to forgo the past and work together for a victory to continue the good work for the people of Ghana.

Ralph Agyapong congratulated Asenso Boakye for his massive victory and called for the United Front to break the 8th in this year’s election.
