Biafra supporters protest in Germany, demand release of Nigeria separatist leader

Supporters of Biafra, a southeastern Nigeria separatist movement, have staged a protest at the British Embassy in Berlin, against the arrest of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanu is currently being detained by the Federal Government of Nigeria after being abducted in Kenya.

Hundreds of people were spotted marching towards the embassy while carrying Biafra flags and placards with different inscriptions.

According to reports, the IPOB leader’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor stated that the British High Commission in Nigeria had acknowledged the receipt of the letter written on his behalf, seeking its support as a British citizen.

The British authorities promised the protection of Kanu’s welfare, stating that Kanu will get their “support and welfare.”
