Bishop Prophet Thomas Yeboah Afari commends President Mahama for instituting National Day of Prayer and Fasting

The Founder and Overseer of Builders Christian Church International (Nyame Tease), Bishop Prophet Thomas Yeboah Afari, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for instituting July 1st as a National Day of Prayer and Fasting.

Speaking to the media, Bishop Afari revealed that during the 2024 election campaign, then opposition candidate John Dramani Mahama visited his church, where he proposed that a day be set aside to honor God through national prayer and fasting should Mr. Mahama return to power.

He expressed joy and gratitude that the proposal has now materialized, with July 1st officially declared a National Day of Prayer and Fasting beginning in 2025.

“During the campaign period, former President John Dramani Mahama visited one of my church services. On that occasion, I urged him to consider instituting a National Day of Prayer and Fasting if he were given the mandate to lead the country again.

“I noticed one of his delegates taking notes as I made the appeal. Truly, President Mahama has now instituted July 1st as a National Day of Prayer and Fasting, and that is highly commendable.” He said

According to him, the move is highly commendable, stressing that no nation can achieve lasting progress without God’s guidance

Bishop Prophet Thomas Yeboah Afari also called on Ghanaians from all walks of life to actively take part in the day of prayer and fasting, saying he believes such a spiritual exercise can uplift the country.

“No country can achieve sustainable development without the blessing and guidance of God. It is therefore important for every nation to allow God to take center stage in its governance—and that is exactly what President Mahama is doing.

“I pray for God’s continued blessings upon him and urge all citizens to make it a priority to participate in the National Day of Prayer and Fasting. I strongly believe that through collective prayer and dedication, we can move our country to greater heights.” He said.
