Bogus Christian Council only loud on politicians – Kennedy Agyapong

New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand, Kennedy Agyapong has described the Christian Council of Ghana as a bogus institution that only works when politicians make comments which do not sit down well with them.

The outspoken lawmaker for Assin Central wondered why it took so long for the Christian Council to condemn the misogynistic comments of the leader of Glorious Wave Chapel Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi.

According to him, the religious body is always in a rush to react if it is about a politician but slow when the matter involves its own describing it as hypocritical.

“We say we have Christian Council? They are bogus. If the comments were made by a politician, there would have been backlash from them. A pastor has made very awful remarks and all we heard was that pastor is not a part of the Council. As I sit here, do I know the difference between members of the Christian Council and those who aren’t part? Who has come out (from the Council) to condemn such comments?” he quizzed on NET 2 Television monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

It would be recalled that Prophet Badu Kobi described women of Ashanti origin as most deadly wives in the world admonishing prospective husband not dare not marry women from Ashanti tribe.

“If you marry Ashanti lady, you have imported problem to yourself forever. I have done research and it is so”, the preacher revealed in a video that has gone viral.

According to the controversial preacher, woman of that origin are ungrateful and therefore will not allow anyone of his sons or close relations to marry from Ashanti tribes irrespective of the benefit or reason.
