Boko Haram jailbreakers may enter Ghana – Immigration Service warns

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has warned that Ghana stands at risk of invasion by some Boko Haram jailbreakers from Nigeria.

These persons the security agencies warn may use approved and unapproved routes to enter Ghana in the coming days if proper checks and surveillance are not heightened.

As a result, the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has improved its surveillance in order to intercept all jailbreakers who will attempt to enter Ghana from neighboring countries.

Nigeria recorded another jailbreak on July 6, 2022.

According to the Immigration Service, 443 out of 879 escaped from jail.

Out of the 443 escapees, it is believed that 64 have links to the Jihadist group known as Boko Haram.
