The Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, has officially launched construction works on the Bosu Dotobaa–Asonkwa Beposo road, a key initiative aimed at improving transportation infrastructure and promoting economic growth in the Bono East Region.
The colorful ceremony drew participation from government officials, traditional authorities, and enthusiastic residents who turned up to witness the beginning of a project they believe will transform movement and trade within the Nkoranza municipality.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi stated that the project holds immense value for the region’s socio-economic progress. He noted that the new road will not only enhance mobility but also make it easier for people to access healthcare, education, and local markets.
According to him, the John Dramani Mahama-led government aims to bring development to the doorstep of every citizen, and the Bono East Region will not be left out.
“This initiative goes beyond just constructing a road, it’s about linking communities, creating opportunities, and driving development across Bono East. Our goal is to make sure every community in the region feels the positive impact of government’s development agenda.”
Minister for Special Initiative and Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South, Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, also commended the effort, describing it as part of government’s broader strategy to boost rural infrastructure and regional trade.
“Good roads are the backbone of community life,” he said. “The Bosu Dotobaa–Asonkwa Beposo project will make it easier for farmers and traders to reach markets, access social services, and grow their businesses.”
Nkoranza South Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Godfred Dapaah, hinted that additional road initiatives are in the pipeline to complement this project and extend development to every part of the municipality.
“We’re committed to working with all partners to ensure smooth implementation,” he told reporters. “Beyond this, plans are underway to connect more communities through improved roads so that development reaches everyone.”
The project, which will be executed in well-defined phases, is backed by secured funding and strong technical collaboration to ensure quality and timely completion. Once finished, it is expected to generate jobs, stimulate local commerce, and improve access to essential amenities for residents.
