Bono East: NPP has clear edge for 2028, but only if we unite – 2nd Vice Chairperson

The Bono East regional Second Vice Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Baba Mohammed Abdulai, has called on all  ranks  of the party to unite and begin working strategically towards victory in the 2028 general elections.

According to him, unity and early preparation are crucial if the party is to bounce back stronger after its defeat in the 2024 polls. He disclosed that unlike the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the NPP already has two solid potential presidential candidates in persons of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who can lead the party to success in the next elections. An advantage, he urged the party to fully utilize.

“I am deeply grateful to all those who have supported me since the very first day I began my political career, from the people of the Techiman South Constituency to the entire Bono East Region, and all the way to our National Executives.

“Although we lost the 2024 general elections, that does not mark the end of our great party. I strongly believe that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will bounce back, and we will return even stronger.

“The good news is that, unlike the NDC, we in the NPP already have two strong potential candidates who can lead us to victory in 2028, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. As it stands, the NDC does not have a clearly defined successor to H.E. John Dramani Mahama. That gives us a strategic advantage, and we must make the most of it.” He stated

Baba Mohammed Abdulai further revealed that the NDC’s success in the 2024 elections was a result of unity. He attributed their victory to a conscious effort to close ranks following their defeat in 2016. He urged NPP members to learn from this and focus on building internal cohesion. Baba Abdulai encouraged national, regional, constituency, and polling station executives of the NPP to put aside their differences and work together toward a common goal.

“The truth behind the NDC’s victory in the 2024 elections was their unity. After their defeat in 2016, they made a conscious effort to unite all party members under one umbrella, and that ultimately led to their success in 2024.

“Our national, regional, constituency, and polling station executives must set aside their differences and work together as a united front toward 2028. I believe that by doing so—Insha Allah—we will win the 2028 general elections.” He said.
